Jets Poop on the Pats-Bad Dog and Bad Pup overview of podcast by D. Title
Bad dog and Bad Pup are still recovering from the huge win over New England on Sunday. Of course, they were still able to hand out their “Classless King” award to Patriots’ coach Bill Belichik for the on-field snubbing of his one-time assistant. Bad dog went so far as to invoke Belichik’s deceased Navy vet father in his little tirade. Not that it wasn’t deserved. Bad dog wrapped up this thought by predicting this was officially the beginning of the end for the Patriots.
Next up was the “Blind Man” award to ref Iron Eagle for yet another blown call. This opened up the floodgates for a series of Bad dog finger-wags starting with Jaworski and Boomer for picking the Pats over of the Jets. Bad Pup chimed in with a snap of her own at Adam Shine for a similar offence and handed out the “Perogi” award to Jaworski although Bad dog wasn’t letting Boomer off the hook.
Taking a break from the negativity, Bad dog turned his attention to the excellent work of the offensive and defensive lines for the Jets who held the potent Tom Brady and company to only 14 points and provided their own QB with plenty of time to make the right throw. Shout-outs included Nick Mangold, D’Brickashaw (man, I am totally naming my first son D’Brickashaw!) Ferguson, Leon Washington, Rashad Moore, Shaun Ellis and Dewane Robertson. Bad Pup also took pleasure in the fact that Brady’s back was awful dirty by the end of the game and bemoaned the fact that Victor Hobson was robbed of a sack by another bad call.
Boy, did that pinch a nerve on the Bad dog. The man who blew that call was a referee named Phil Mirelli and Bad dog proceeded to let the man have it, not only for that call but for a call from last year’s playoffs. Bad dog recommended that he give up on football and start refereeing croquet (pronounced “crow-kette”) over in Greenwich. Bad dog got over this long enough to give a pat on the back to B.J. Askew and Chris Baker for their fine work. Back on the feel-good train, Bad Pup tossed a biscuit to Safety Eric Coleman for his 6 tackles and an interception.
Emotions seesawed as talk swung from to Andre Dyson and Drew Coleman, who got no lovin’ from the dogs, to the excellent run-back skills of Justin Miller with Bad dog going so far as to call him the best return man in the game – though this was before the Giants/Bears match and Haskells amazing return. Nothing against Miller but he has some serious competition.
Bad Pup turned the focus to the Jets receivers, showering them with praise for their efforts especially in terms of yards after the catch. This was also about the time the first secret phrase for the Buffalo tickets was uttered, but you’ll just have to listen to the podcast for yourself if you want a shot to win.
The coaches received mixed blessings, with Marty Shotenheimer’s son singled out for his super offensive play-calling but Bad dog had some questions about the whole 3-man rush.
Before signing off Bad Pup had a few choice words for kicker Mike Nugent. Now, I love the Bad Pup, but seeing as my other blog (http://thekickoff.blogspot.com) is dedicated to the kicker I feel like I have to side with Bad dog who gave Mike props for his excellent kickoffs.
Next week, bring on the Bears!
